ECCC wrap up (this counts as a post, right?)

Hey guys! Sorry to drop off the face of the earth (again). Hopefully I’ll be able to get another post, along with some more HL videos, up this week. Until then, feel free to read about Hawk’s adventures at ECCC last weekend:

Day 1

Day 2 (part I)

Day 2 (part II)

Day 3

I also have a review of last week’s Wonder Woman #608 out, for the curious. For what it’s worth, the book no longer seems determined to destroy the character and everything she stands for. Which is a positive step.

Off to see the Wizard!

Or off to Emerald City Comic Con, anyway…I so meant to post this yesterday, but in my rush to get packed and go…I didn’t.

Anyway, I just spent my first day at a comic con ever, and it was AMAZING! I’ll tell you more about it next week, but for now, I’m covering the con for Weekly Comic Book Review–the site I write weekly comic book reviews for. Check out the website to get a summary of each day (written by yours truly!). Also, be sure to check out our Twitter and Facebook accounts. All those posts and tweets you see about ECCC? Those are me, too. πŸ˜€

An apology, an explanation, and another apology

Hey faithful readers,

Despite what you may think, this blog is not abandoned. Really. I keep saying that I know, but it really is true. Here’s the thing: for the last month I have been frantically preparing and training for LDAC–the Army’s Leadership Development and Assessment Course–a training camp that all Army cadets being commissioned through ROTC must complete. Between that and my comic reviewing and YouTube solving obligations, this blog has kinda fallen by the wayside. And since I have to leave on Monday for LDAC, and won’t return until August, it will continue to be silent for a little bit longer. But fear not! I have part 2 of the “Final Fantasies I Have Loved (FF I) almost done and about to go up, and when I return, I’ll hopefully be able to catch my breath and get to work on some more good articles (specifically another D&D mini one.) I’m also going to try and get an article about Wonder Woman and her new look up before I go, but that’s time dependent, so we’ll see.

Until the FF article goes up though, the latest comic reviews:

I return–bearing comic book reviews!

Yep, I have returned safe and sound from the wilds of the Southwest, and have successfully managed to visit Roswell, NM without being abducted by aliens, and spy on Area 51 without being shot–and I won $40 in Vegas playing Blackjack to boot!

Now don’t worry, you’ll be getting a full report (of all the cool alien/sciencey nerd parts) of the trip shortly, along with another Half-Life installment (and some written commentary to catch is up on all the episodes I’ve posted too.) For the time being, enjoy latest comic reviews:

And May the 4th be with you πŸ˜€ .

In honor of the day (and the fact that a major school project is finally out of my hair), you will be treated to two updates tomorrow: another Half-Life update, and a post reminiscing about the awesomeness that was the original Final Fantasy for the NES. To tied you over til then (and as a thank you for your patience with me as I slog through these last few weeks of the semester), here are links to the comic reviews I’ve done for WCBR since the last update:
